You can find it right here.
That means that my Deborah Cooke Facebook page, like this website and blog, will be focused more on my contemporary romances.
I think it’ll be easier to keep things organized this way.
For those of you who have been waiting, more pre-orders for the new edition of Whisper Kiss are live.
One man’s mission ignites one woman’s fire…
Niall Talbot has volunteered to hunt down and destroy all the remaining shadow dragons – who were weakened by the destruction of the Dragon’s Blood Elixir – before they can wreak more havoc. Among them is his dead twin brother, making Niall’s mission not only dangerous but personal.
Tattoo artist Rox believes the world is a canvas to be made more beautiful. An unconventional spirit who isn’t afraid of anything, she doesn’t even flinch when a shape-shifting dragon warrior suddenly appears on her doorstep. And as a woman who follows her heart in matters of passion, she makes the perfect mate for a firestorm with Niall…
“WHISPER KISS by Deborah Cooke is now my unofficial official favorite! Rox’s quirky characteristics and beauty and Niall’s no nonsense outlook on life as well as his dedication just drew me into this wonderful but often dangerous world of the Pyr and I loved every single scene. Bursting with emotions, passion, and even a real fire or four, I count myself lucky not to have spontaneously combusted! Don’t miss this sizzling addition to Deborah Cooke’s DRAGONFIRE series – it is marvelous!”—Romance Junkies

Ta DA! Here’s the hardcover collectors’ edition of Kiss of Fire:
The front and back cover on the dust jacket are the same as the cover for the trade paperback, but (of course) there are flaps on it as well. The book itself is bound in blue cloth, with the title and my name in foil on the spine. The interior is the same as the trade paperback, too. Here’s a peek of the dragons in the drop caps at the start of each chapter – you can see a bit of the blue cloth, too:
I’m making the entire series available in hardcover collectors’ editions. The trim size on the book interior is the same as the trade paperback, but if you mix and mingle, they won’t quite line up on your shelf – the hardcover case is a little bit bigger so the hardcover is 1/4″ taller and wider than the trade paperback. It’s also a bit thicker, again because of the hardcover case.
You can also buy it directly from me. Your copy will be signed – and you’ll also get the ebook edition. If you pre-order from me, you’ll get free shipping to the US and Canada.
Here are copies of the new trade paperback edition of Kiss of Fire.
There will also be a trade paperback edition published through Amazon which will be a little bit cheaper – the list price is $9.99 US – although it won’t be available in all territories. (It’s cheaper because it’s only available at Amazon and only in certain Amazon territories.) If you’re in the US and you shop at Amazon, you might want to wait for that one. There’s no option for pre-order on that version, so it will go live on the on-sale date of June 26.
Later this week, I’ll show you the hardcover edition. 🙂
The new Dragonfire bookmarks have arrived, and they look even better than I’d hoped.
If you’d requested some earlier, I’ve sent you an email to ask for your mailing address. If you’ve replied to that email, then your bookmarks will go in the mail early next week – we have a lot of requests to fulfill!
You can also comment on this post if you’d like bookmarks.
To celebrate the republication of Dragonfire in new editions, I decided to have some t-shirts printed. I chose a shaped black t-shirt. I was a bit worried about the orange printing well on the black, but they came today and I think they’re awesome!
My Nelly agreed to model for us:
She’s wearing a black skirt but you can see where the t-shirt ends. The color on this shot is more true than on the ones below, which were taken outside.
Here’s what the logo looks like:
I’m really pleased with them!
The vast majority of these shirts are going to Romancing the Capital for their swag bags – I’m going to send 120 to RTC and they prepare 200 goody bags, so not all attendees will get one. There will be a mix of sizes, so you might need to swap to get the one you want or need. 🙂
I’ll be giving away the rest of the t-shirts here and in my newsletter in June, so keep your eyes open!
I’m proofreading the new Dragonfire editions in print as well as digital. It’s amazing how much easier it is for me to proofread in print rather than digital. I’m finding so many little fussy fixes!
Look at the notes on this proof copy of Kiss of Fire:
A lot of these are very, very minor – there are a number of straight quotes that should be curly ones, for example. These book files were scanned because I didn’t have them in digital format, so there are silly things like missing periods or commas that were read as periods in OCR. I found one instance of Pyr that wasn’t italicized. Before printing the proof copy, this book was corrected in digital format by me, then proofread by my very excellent proofreader – yet there were still nits to pick. I’m also making a few small editorial changes at this point—well, maybe more than a few. No proofreader could have anticipated those.
It’s time-consuming, for sure, but the end result will be a book as close to perfect as I can make it. That pleases me a great deal. 🙂
Once I’ve updated and uploaded the final files for Quinn and Sara’s book, Kiss of Fury will get the same treatment.
One kiss can melt his frozen heart…
The mysterious Dragon’s Blood Elixir gives immortality to Magnus, the Pyr’s greatest enemy, and his minions. The Pyr must destroy this source of power, and outcast Delaney vows to complete the quest himself. Delaney was exiled because of his dangerous impulses, and success in eliminating the Elixir will either redeem him or end his suffering.
But his plans don’t take into account his sudden firestorm – or fiery Ginger Sinclair. The firestorm revitalizes Delaney, restoring him to his old self. And when Ginger learns about Delaney’s mission, she realizes she cannot resist a strong man with a noble agenda.
“A beautiful and emotionally gripping fourth novel, WINTER KISS is compelling and will keep readers riveted in their seats and breathing a happy sigh at the love shared between Delaney and Ginger. . . .Sizzling-hot love scenes and explosive emotions make WINTER KISS a must read!”—Romance Junkies

Difference in this edition: There is an out-take from the prologue of Winter Kiss here on the site which was removed from the original edition of the book. It shows Magnus in action, and also will give you some insight into Melissa’s background in Darkfire Kiss. It’s been included in the prologue of the new edition of Winter Kiss. Read the out-take.
Today’s the day for my Dragons & Angels newsletter to go out. There’s a sale on Incendium books for subscribers, so make sure you open your newsletter today. 🙂

As the new Dragonfire editions are formatted for digital and print, I’ve been ordering single copies of the print books. I want to read them one more time for typos before the books are published. OCR scans leave a lot of teeny tiny typos, and we want to catch them all.
This also gives me the chance to show you all the new print books. They’re trade paperback, the same trim size as the conclusion of the series. Here are the new editions of Kiss of Fury, Kiss of Fate and Winter Kiss with the original mass market editions.
The Dragonfire editions that are in trade paperback already have the gloss covers and I can’t change that setting. (That’s The Dragon Legion Collection, Serpent’s Kiss and Firestorm Forever.) I tried Winter Kiss in the matte finish here, because pale covers look good with that finish. It looks nice, but I’m going to change it to glossy to match the others. I think the glossy finish echoes the finish of the original books, which had foil stamping and embossing too. Kiss of Fury even had a tint varnish in its original edition, which was kind of a silvery-blue and very pretty.
If you’re looking for mass market editions to complete your collection, they’re getting pretty scarce. The rest of mine are listed for sale in my online store as signed editions. You can find them in Collectors Editions, starting here on page two of the listings. And yes, there’s a new cover of Kiss of Fire shown there, too. That’s the hardcover edition.
What do you think? I’m really pleased with them. 🙂
